That is a tough question to answer. Each Mom’s pumping journey is different, so the Medela Pump In Style with Maxflow breast pump may be the best breast pump for one Mom, while the Medela Freestyle Hands-free breast pump may be the best breast pump for a different Mom.
The Medela Pump In Style Advanced with Maxflow is considered Medela’s entry level breast pump. It is considered a traditional pump, as it has an exterior motor and tubing. It also has two other options: The Medela Pump In Style Advanced with Maxflow with Bag, which comes with a bag and some additional accessories and the Medela Pump In Style Advanced with Maxflow Hands-free breast pump, which turns it into a hands-free pump.
The Medela Freestyle Hands-free breast pump is Medela’s first hands-free pump. The Medela Freestyle Hands-free breast pump still has an exterior motor and tubing, but the flanges are meant to be worn inside your bra.
Yes, Medela does have two different hands-free breast pump options: the Medela Pump In Style with Maxflow Hands-free breast pump and the Medela Freestyle Hands-free breast pump. Both of these pumps have exterior motors and tubing, so they are not considered to be true wearable breast pumps.
The Medela breast pump that is right for you depends on your breast pumping journey. Here are some factors to think about when deciding which Medela breast pump is the right pump for you: how often you will be pumping, where you will be pumping, how often you will be traveling with your breast pump, and what you will be doing while you pump.
